Stamped concrete is becoming the standard for decorative concrete hardscapes in Florida. More and more people are turning to this option when installing new concrete or replacing old cracked concrete. Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile- and even wood.

Due to the wide array of patterns and colors available, and the cost of stamped concrete in relation to the materials stamped concrete is a substitute for, the choice of stamped concrete is becoming more popular and frequent. Colors and patterns for stamped concrete are often chosen to blend with other stone or tile elements at the residence.

Complex designs incorporating steps, courtyards, and fountains can be achieved. Stamped concrete can also be blended with other decorative concrete elements such as exposed aggregate finishes. If you are looking for more than the usual white broom finished concrete then stamped concrete might be the right choice for you.

Stamped Concrete is the process of adding texture and color to concrete to make it resemble stone, brick, slate, cobblestone and many other products found in nature including wood, fossils, shells and many more. This limitless array of possibilities combined with great durability and lower cost than natural products makes Stamped Concrete an easy choice for new construction and renovation projects.

The installation consists of pressing molds into the concrete while the concrete is still in its plastic state. Color is achieved by using Dry Shakes or Color Hardeners, Powder or Liquid Releases, Integral Colors or Acid Stains. All these products may be combined to create even more intricate designs.
Stamped Concrete has been around for about 50 of years, what it started in the late 50's as a novelty product grew steadily until the mid 70' when stamped concrete experienced a huge growth spurt as more architects, contractors and designers became aware of its benefits, lower costs and natural beauty. Stamped Concrete caused a major stir when it was introduced at the World of Concrete in the mid '70s and since 1978 Decorative Concrete has been one of the show's major attractions.
